Cistercian College offers a broad based curriculum delivered in modern classrooms and laboratories by experienced, committed staff. This work is complimented through the use of dedicated supervised Study Halls. School work is monitored through a pro-active system of weekly, monthly and end-of-term tests. This system provides for positive individual academic coaching and instruction. Subjects offered to students at Honours Leaving Certificate Level include: Gaeilge, English, Mathematics, Geography, History, French, German, Spanish, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Applied Mathematics, Art, Technical Graphics, Business, Accounting and Economics.
Our comprehensive Pastoral Care System reflects the importance we attach to the care and well-being of the boys entrusted to us on a Seven Day Boarding School basis. Participation in the non-academic activities is greatly supported and encouraged, primarily in a wide variety of Games, in Debating and Public Speaking, in Music and Drama and in a host of other past-times. Excellent facilities are provided by the college to cater for those activities including a modern Information Technology Centre, a “State of the Art” Sports Complex, Swimming Pool, Golf Course and in excess of forty acres of excellent quality Sports Pitches. Past pupils have also won scholarships to Third Level Colleges in Rugby, Hurling and Golf.
